How to Create a Custom Google Map for Multiple Outlets
Step 1: Sign in to Google My Maps
- Go to Google My Maps.
- Log in with your Google account.
Step 2: Create a New Map
- Click "Create a New Map".
- A new, untitled map will open.
Step 3: Add Outlet Locations
- Search for Each Outlet:
- Use the search bar at the top to find each outlet’s location.
- Click on the correct location from the search results.
- Select "Add to Map" to add it as a pin.
- Manually Add Locations:
- Zoom to the desired area on the map.
- Click the “Add Marker” tool (pin icon under the search bar).
- Drop the pin where the outlet is located.
- Add a name, description, and any relevant details (e.g., address, contact).
- Repeat this for all your outlets.
Step 4: Customize the Map
- Organize Locations:
- Click on the "Untitled Layer" to rename it (e.g., “Outlets”).
- Use different layers if you want to group outlets by region, category, etc.
- Customize Pins:
- Click on a pin and select the paint bucket icon to change the color or icon.
- You can upload custom icons (e.g., your brand logo).
Step 5: Add Details
- Include store hours, contact numbers, and a short description in the info box for each outlet.
- Use the “Draw Line” tool if you want to connect nearby outlets or highlight specific areas.
Step 6: Share the Map
- Click on "Share" at the top of the map.
- Adjust privacy settings:
- Private: Share only with specific email addresses.
- Public: Anyone with the link can view the map.
- Copy the link and share it with your audience via your website, social media, or other platforms.
Step 7: Embed the Map on Your Website (Optional)
- Click the three dots (⋮) next to the map title.
- Select "Embed on My Site".
- Copy the HTML code and paste it into your website’s code.
